Whistling Angels

I had the privilege to refurbish a series of rice paper “Kites”

imported from Japan. The “kites” hang in a restaurant,  Chaya Venice. From this experience I learned how to build with rice paper and I have now begun my own series.

As I carved the face of the fish I innocently drilled a hole for the mouth. I realized later that this made the fish look like they were whistling, hence the name.
